Well, I want to share ways to change the name of your
motorbike to new buyers. I never sold my motorbike to new buyers and this
experience, I will present to you for the setup needs to be done before the
name change process, you must provide some documents such as
- A copy of the Identity Card
- A copy of the grant motorcycles
- Original grant
- IC
Documents to be provided by the new buyer
- A copy of the Identity Card
- IC
If you have provided the necessary documents, you must first
bring new buyers to get new insurance for motorcycles to be sold. The new
insurance payment depends on the agreement you. Whether, buyers own conduct
insurance payments or yourself.
You can choose any insurance company registered vehicles as
Kurnia Insurance, ETIQA, Alliance and many others. Motorcycle insurance must be
purchased by new buyers because the JPJ will not process the name change if a
new buyer does not have a new insurance.
If the new buyers have been getting motorcycle insurance in
the insurance company, brought the buyer to JPJ to process the name change. Go
to the counter and ask for a form to change the name of the motorcycle
voluntarily. They will give you two forms to be filled and after you have
completed the form, take a number and wait your turn to be called.
When you have to queue number, go to the counter with a new
buyer and complete the necessary forms and documents. The front desk staff will
check your forms and documents. If all forms are completed and adequate
documentation, they will process the change of name of the new owner of the
motorcycle in minutes and chop the fingers of both sellers and buyers will be
required.
Upon completion of the conversion process name in grants
motorcycle, you will be charged in approximately RM 40 for processing. If
completed, be sure to ask road tax motorcycle. Well, it has been completed and
you've managed to do what the change of ownership of your motorcycle with the
new buyer.
Motorcycles for more than a year did not renew road tax.
If the motorcycle doesn't renew road tax more than a year,
you can not make the change of name and the purchase of insurance for
motorcycles. You must go to PUSPAKOM for inspection and will be charged for the
processing of RM 30.
Conclusion.
This is the process
of name change if you buy or sell new motorcycles to buyers. I hope this guide
is helpful to you and if you have any questions, leave your comments below and
I'll try to help you. Hope to see you again in the next entry. Have a nice day.

Hi there...
ReplyDeleteThe information is very useful.
I have few doubts.
I am a foreigner here and I bought a bike from one dealer in klang.
Now I want to sell it.
I have the transfer paper only.
Do I need to do the puspakom again and where do I do this?
What do you mean transfer paper? Is it grants motorcycle? You are required to Puspakom if the motorcycle has been more than a year without roadtax. If roadtax not expired, you should get a new motorcycle insurance for new buyers and can continue to JPJ (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan/ Road Transport Department) for the change of name along with a new buyer. Documents required are
Delete1. MyKad or Passport
2. MyKad or Passport for new buyers
3. Processing money in the budget of RM 40
4. A copy of the grant motorcycles and Original grant
Also can I transfer the bike without doing puspakom and may be the buyer can do it later on his own?
ReplyDeleteYou are required to Puspakom if the motorcycle has been more than a year without road tax. This is because the document Puspakom inspection is required during the process of the change of name in JPJ.

ReplyDeleteyes, you do not need to Puspakom but make sure you get a motorcycle insurance in the name of the new owner, and then you can make name changes in RTD (JPJ).
Deleteif the new buyer do not have driving licence, can i still transfer the ownership to him? Will it be a problem to buy insurance and road tax?
